About Stirling

Stirling Images

In 2002, as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee, Stirling was granted city status, making it Scotland’s newest City. Its Castle and Old Town along with many other historic sites make it the best small city in Scotland.

The city is a regional shopping destination with the Thistles Shopping Centre and the many boutique stores in Bridge of Allan.

Stirling has all the buzz and cosmopolitan culture of a University city – two theatres, two cinemas, contemporary art galleries are all here.

For travellers the city is still at Scotland’s crossroads. It is located at the centre of Scotland where Highland mountains and lochs meet Lowland cities.
